Various comic characters for mix and mingle purposes at festivals, themed events, and corporate parties. Christine is a skilled costume maker so she and Andy always look good, even if their behaviour is rather eccentric! They are often accompanied by one of their loud-mouthed puppets, ready to insult them and anyone else around.
Medieval
The Duchess of Wormwood, accompanied by
Raddle the Jester, are out collecting jokes to keep Pen Dragon amused. Raddle is so useless and miserable he'll be back at the Job Centre soon and the Duchess is already interviewing prospective replacements.
On occasions Raddle has been known to don chainmail and get on his hobby horse as he fancies his chances in the local joust. He’ll undoubtedly get himself killed if the Duchess can’t dissuade him ... so maybe she’ll just let him get on with it.
Or you could have a slightly more regal pair.
King Arthur with Guinevere and Pen Dragon. The dragon is a particular favourite with children and sometimes Guinevere can be persuaded to indulge in some storytelling to keep everyone happy.
Since the dragon is so versatile he is always prepared to come out for St George's Day, or thereabouts, to take a starring role in
George and the Dragon.
Victorian / Edwardian
Sir Henry Greatham and his disreputable and sometimes inebriated wife Lydia now come in a variety of periods from Georgian through Victorian to Edwardian. Same slightly mad pair, different costumes and ready to grace, or disgrace any occasion. The Greathams can also offer short theatre pieces, or play music if the occasion and setting suits.
The Queen is completely barmy, hates children but seems to attract them like flies. Meanwhile the Mad Hatter is fully occupied apologising for the Queen's behaviour.
You might also get an invitation to
The Mad Hatter's Tea Party if there's room to lay the table, or maybe he and the Queen will be persuaded to play some music instead?
Wartime
A couple of 'spivs' from late on in the War or early 1950's, available for a street corner near you. Will attempt to sell dodgy goods to anyone gullible enough,... or keep out of trouble and just play music.
Once their Austin Seven is renovated no doubt Flash Harry and Mavis will be out selling their dodgy goods off the back. "Cash on delivery. No rubbish!"
Seaside & Maritime
A variety of things on offer for seaside themed events including a life sized Punch and Judy who have escaped from the booth with the Crocodile. They are still arguing but then they have been together for about 300 years! The crocodile is wondering what happened to the sausages, and Judy is very annoyed that Mr Punch seems to have mislaid the baby again.
Or you may prefer Seaside Sunshine, a short entertainment for the beach or promenade, some music, or maybe one of the Boats with Legs.
Pirates
Another favourite for maritime festivals. It's
Johnny Depp's fault! Two real low-life marauding pirates, ready to grace (or disgrace) any event, sometimes accompanied by their cat, Jack Scratch'em. The cat is surprisingly clean, although on occasions the same cannot be said of his language. Captain Flint the scarlet macaw, or Cora the Crow are ready for duty with the pirate crew if the cat is 'out on the tiles'.
There's also a show, Pirates Adrift and a wonderful walkabout Pirate Galleon.
Western
Jack Silver and Belle Chance, emerged dusty and weary from Inner State's touring theatre show, "The Magnificent Two". They've lost the horse but come loaded with weaponry and whiskey, and the worst American accents you've ever heard. Ready for anything ... except line-dancing.
They also have a small repertoire of suitable cowboy songs if you want a bit of music for your event as well. Yeee - haw !

You may also find something suitable on the Truncated Theatre, Boats with Legs, or Music pages, particularly if you are covering a certain period in history, or a specific theme.
